Annielytics AI Timeline methodology

I pull events from a number of email lists and feeds.

Process

I used to follow 20+ individual website press pages and blogs, but the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. So now I rely almost exclusively on newsletters and feeds for sites don't keep their information behind a pay/registration wall. My goal is to update the timeline 2–3 times a week.

I also used to use ChatGPT to generate the summaries, but it was too unreliable—even completely hallucinating the summary points at times. As of maybe November 2024, I started generating the bulletpoints manually.

I have a list of nearly 100 tags I use to help users find similar updates. I try to be as consistent as possible in my approach but am not batting 1000, I'm sure. When I add a new tag, I search the timeline for other updates that may be relevant. But you can also use the search field to search for similar topics.

Disclosure

I do not share any AI news or initiatives on request. If I ever agreed to include a requested article, it would only be because the information therein aligns with the purpose of this app—and I would still err on the side of caution and disclose the request. But if you know of or manage an AI-focused newsletter or feed, I'm always looking for good sources. You can have your people cawl my people. 💅
