Below are a number of tips to help you navigate the AI Timeline app:
- You can learn how to use this app here.
- You can filter the timeline and table below by AI company to focus on innovation from a particular organization (e.g., OpenAI or Meta), tag to focus on announcements, AI news, etc, and/or search by keyword.
- Filters affect the timeline and table.
- Keywords you enter will be highlighted in the table for ease of scanning.
- You can share a filtered view of the timeline by copying the url.
- Use the 'Clear all filters' button to start fresh.
- To read more about an update, select it in the timeline. This will filter the table below where you can get more details. To release the filter, click the event again in the timeline. (Your active event with be highlighted with an orange border.)
- You can zoom in and out using the zoom options in the upper-left corner.
- You can click and drag the canvas to pan horizontally or vertically.
- If there are events that are out of the viewing area, you have 3 options: Zoom in, pan, or resize the timeline by dragging anywhere along the gray bar at the bottom.
- Pills in the Company and Tag column can be used as filters for the dashboard. To release the filter, either click the pill again (from any row) or update the global filter at the top of the dashboard. So if, for example, you filter the dashboard by OpenAI by clicking its pill, you can release it by clicking any OpenAI pill in the table (or by updating the global Company filter).
- To read more about an update, click the link icon in the Source column.
- For company, I'm more focused on the company that has launched an AI model, not research companies, organizations they partner with, etc. So if OpenAI partners with a publication, for example, only OpenAI will appear in the Company column, not the publication.
- You can sort the table by any column except Source since it only contains links.
- When you search by keyword, your keyword(s) will be highlighted in the table.
- If you discover a 🦟 please let me know! 👊
